Walailak Univeristy is situated at the edge of the city, which is surrounded by a forest. It is 31 kilometers from the city center of Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The campus has a total area of 15,257,600 square meters. It is located at the South of Thailand. The official address is 222 Thaiburi, Thasala district, Nakhon Si Thammarat 80161. Walailak University has the largest campus in Thailand which spreads over 9,594 rai or 15,350,400 square meters. The main campus facilities are in the center of the area. In the surrounding, they are also staff housing, student dormitories, university hospital, sports stadium, conservation forests, and forest land for ecological studies and research. Any development of land-use will strictly follow the university master plan to ensure it is serving the primary purpose of university establishment.

Walailak University has the total area of 9,594 rai or 15,350,400 square meters and the abundant forest area of 2,345.73 rai or 3,753,172.8 square meters. We have received fund to establish the nature and ecological museum serving the Plant Genetic Conservation Project which is under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The purpose of this establishment is for study and research and also for conserving the plant and flower species founded in the South of Thailand. It is the open-air museum located in the greenery forest area of the campus.
